Most tournaments with USBC dress code use slacks, trousers or sometimes nice jeans are allowed.
I really like bowling in shorts when I can, though.
Was it the denim or the cut of the jeans that was giving you the problem?
I typically wear track pants but that is a bit casual. Today I wore jeans and my legs are chaffed like hell. What pants (material/kind/brand) would you fellas recommend?

Here in FL they tried to do the USBC dress code for the county tournament and entries dived, so we can bowl in shorts. State still has a code, I think. Al would know. Bowl1820, what do you say?
Dress code for state is collared-shirt with sleeves to elbow. Shorts and Skirts must come to knee and no hats without a doctors slip.(I wonder though if a jewish bowler was wearing a Kippah(Yarmulke) the little "beanie hat" if they going to tell them they cant wear it)
As for what pants to wear bowling, well if jeans chaf. Then wear regular slacks.

I wear Van Huessan slacks when I bowl. They are very lightweight, breath well, and are nice looking. I do recommend loose fitting jeans, if you are going to wear jeans.
