    Question Columbia 300 Yellow Dot

I am a very new bowler and I am currently learning how to hook the ball. I currently have a plastic ball. I found my dads old Columbia 300 Yellow Dot 16 lb ball. Its drilled for finger tips. The ball fits my fingers perfect. Is this a good ball for hooking?

Not on today's lane conditions. Plus, the ball is probably shot after all this time.

On light to med oil conditions should be great for learning to hook the ball. This is a softer plastic that was designed for light oil and shorter conditions. This was a beast back in the day.
You will not be able to cover the amount of boards you see the high rev crankers covering with this ball. But to learn the basics and to get a small amount of hook it will work just fine. I wouldnt mind having one for some dried up tounament shots that i see

I figured the ball would deader than a hammer (get it? Hammer? ) by now and not very useful on today's lanes/oil. But you're right! It was a Beast!

i know alot of guys that are pulling out some really old stuff right now and scoring pretty well with them.
One guy on one of my leagues said someone gave him an old ball (dont remember what it was) that had been sitting in a garage untouched for over 10 years he cleaned it up and was throwing it in league

I wonder how my old rubber AMF would do? It's only... let's see... 33 years old.

We have quite a few throwing the old urethane faball hammers and a few rhinos. I miss my old blue polished urethane hammer I don't know how it would do on the newer oils and patterns but back in the day it was magic
