"Dreamer", "The Big Lebowski" has bowling in it, "Greedy" has Michael J. Fox as a bowler in it for a moment

There's a documentary, "A League of Ordinary Gentlemen", which follows Wayne Webb, Chris Barnes, Pete Weber, & Walter Ray Williams Jr. through the 2004 season. It's sort of fun to try and recognize the lesser known pros in the background but overall my wife and I thought it was depressing. I don't know if I should recommend that all the young bowlers who dream of being on the tour should find a copy and watch it so they can go into it with their eyes open, or tell them not to watch it lest their dreams get crushed.

I second the reccomendation for "A League of Ordinary Gentlemen". It does end on a few sad notes, but the player who really looked down and out has done better since the end of the movie. It's on Amazon instant video I believe.

Jason, I've never seen the Big Lebowski but was given a copy last night by a teammate that couldn't believe I've never watched it. I'm going to get A League of Ordinary Gentlemen. Sounds like a documentary I could get into.

It's an awesome movie, Bill! I didn't watch it until last year and couldn't believe it took me that long. Hilarious! As long as you aren't sensitive to the word "f**k" then you will love it! lol

Yes "A League of Ordinary Gentlemen" is a must watch for any avid
bowler it shows just how hard life is out on tour and just how close
we all came to loosing the PBA maybe forever just like the PWBA was
lost if it hadn't been for the retired Microsoft boys buying the rights to
    the PBA.

Maybe a bunch of us here on the boards should get together and pool
some money together and maybe buy the rights to the PWBA and bring
Professional Womens bowling back to TV and the way it used to be.
