    Default Finally bought the Reckless

It's going to arrive by Tuesday, and I got measurements today,
it seems as if when I put my fingers in a ball he used, "he said this ball was going to be similar in way of drilling" I could only put my fingers into the first joint, I'm used to using a ball that my whole finger or up to my 2nd joint can go through. I don't feel comfortable with only being able to put my finger up to the first joint in there..
Also he gave me some advice, he wants me to learn to bowl with 3 fingers, but I find it too had to put any revs or power on it...,
No I'm not saying I expected to jump from throwing revs with 2 fingers to throw revs with 3, but I'll have to practice to get this right..
    If I can't, I'm staying with 2 fingers.

Pretty reckless decision if I don't say so myself .

Anyways, I felt the same way transition from a conventional grip to a fingertip grip. I feel it's a lot easier to get the necessary lift to produce more revs with this kind of ball. But honestly, everyone has their own style they are comfortable with. Best to just try different things and return to what you feel is best for you!

yeah finger tip grip is my best way to go could never get any revs when i did conventional grip the reckless is a good ball never thrown it but i ahgve seen it i got the too reckless but i jsut gave it to my borther cause he likes it but once he gets some money he has to buy me a new ball.

its hard to change bowling styles when u have been doing 1 way for awhile it sticks with you i use to have no backswing but then i mussled the ball but then 1 day my style jsut changed to where i had a backswing and know i cant do my old stlye cause it feels soo weird.

but i found out how i got the abckswing i was working on getting out of my bad happet out mussling the ball and when i did after a month of clena swings i got the abcswing my first time doing it i threw the ball wrong cause it surpriced me and took me abit to get back into reving the ball and getting my accuracy back.

The finger tip grip will take you less than one practice session to get use to. This grip is beneficial to generating revs and may be the missing piece to the puzzle for you to use your thumb. If you're going to bowl in college they will push you to that grip and using your thumb.

should I tell him to go back to conventional?
Or as Bill said, fingertip is better?
After a game, I should be more comfortable?

Alright, after my practice session I will let you guys know,
since I"m starting with 3 fingers, I can't play along the same lines as I did, where should I start now?

Every new ball takes a bit of time to figure out. You could start with your usual line and see how much difference there is, assuming it doesn't just slide right into the gutter. You could also make an assumption about how much less hook you'll have and move your target out a little and your feet out a lot. Or you could open your mind up see how it reacts on different parts of the lane, i.e. try playing way out by the gutter, then move in near the track, then deeper inside etc.

Good thing you don't do commercials. The ball is upside down.

haha I know it is, I was just trying to get a picture of the DV8 logo on it, but since it comes out backwards I might as well hold it as that position.
