Welcome to the forum, serial bowl! Being a new bowler myself, I'm afraid I can't recommend much. However, I recently got some advice from my ball driller/coach. The fingers, in a conventional grip ball (I'm not sure on fingertip grip) should create a 90 degree angle at the knuckle joint just outside of the finger holes. Also, bowling balls can be re-drilled. The bowling ball, however, will lose structural integrity. Clearly then, you would need to replace the re-drilled ball sooner than what is typical. Hope this information helps, and feel free to ask me or the other board members any questions that you have!
