I was told it was ok, but I wanted to get more opinions in it. Is 70% Isopropyl Alcohol ok to use on your bowling balls after a bowling session to help clean whatever your towel missed? I ask because it's much cheaper than the stuff in the pro shop which looks to be the same thing.

Yes, Rubbing Alcohol (Isopropyl) is okay to use. It's USBC legal for anytime use.
It's a okay surface cleaner, it might not remove somethings like belt mark unless you apply a lot of elbow grease.
Also it won't harm the ball (That's just a old rumor that's been around for years).
While technically not USBC legal or illegal, a common DIY ball cleaner that is a little more effective is a 50/50 mix of Rubbing Alcohol (Isopropyl) and Simple Green cleaner. Many swear by it and is a cheap alternative cleaner.
While the stuff sold in the proshop does cost more, some of them are more effective cleaners (some not).
But if your on a budget Alcohol or the 50/50 mix will do okay.

Yep, 50/50 mixture is what I use. Gallon of simple green is $10 at Lowes or Home Depot.

Iceman swears by it, and its even cheaper at Costco!! Even the 3 packs of alcohol are much cheaper Costco! Like I tried to explain to Aslan, Costco is an investment, that pays back in huge savings! You get your membership fee back with huge savings!

Thanks guys. Am I allowed to use it during league? Or is it only before/after?

Rubbing Alcohol (Isopropyl) is USBC legal for anytime use. So you can use it during league (Unless the league has it's own rule against it, which is unlikely)
The 50/50 mix as I said is technically not USBC legal or illegal. (It's never been tested and approve one way or the other)
Most people assume it's legal because the individual ingredients are approved for use "Anytime" and use it as such.
In the everyday world If you use it before/after nobody will say squat.
As for during most times you don't have to clean during bowling anyway (Unless it's uber oily or something really bad gets on it like a belt mark etc.). And if you do most people won't think twice about it or say anything anyway.

I have to agree with the others on the 50/50 mix it really
works wonders for removing the oil during and afterwards
and the dirt/belt marks.
