Hmmmm..interesting choice.......

Bumping up thier "Hot" line of balls which generally fit right above their entry level reactive line.

They only are promoting 3 balls in their premier line since removing the V.G.......I guess they are waiting for the fall leagues to start back up to release another higher end ball?

By the way....what the heck is "Super Urethane". I may just want to pick up the new Frantic only because they figued out how to put "Freak'n" on it :-)

Bowling balls usually release around Feb and also around (I think) August.

Which new ones are you talking about? I use the Tropical Breeze, Frantic, and Sync. All great for their lane conditions. Though if you already have a high track, I'd avoid the Tropical Breeze. My track runs medium for all of my balls, except the TB. The TB for some reason always ends up high near the thumb hole. I've found a lot of other people have the same experience.

Storm is releasing 3 new balls in thier 'HOT' line: Freak'n Frantic, Super Natural and Lights Out. The web site says that they will be coming out in about 40 days.....

The Freak'n Frantic seems basically to be a Frantic for a touch lighter oil.

The Super Natural looks like a good light oil ball. I still like my TB but if someone needs a light oil ball, seems like a good choice.

Lights Out looks like a relatively aggressive medium-light oil ball. Not as aggressive as the Freak'n Frantic but not weak by any means.

The Freak'n Frantic = Fringe. It has the same cover and core, they just changed the colors and the smell and name. Maybe the Fringe wasnt selling enough so they rebranded it.

Good catch. It's funny, the ball paths they posted makes it look like the Freak'n Frantic is just a hair stronger, but the only differences are the smell and color. RGs are all the same. Differential are all the same.

So basically, it is if you like Pina Colada (Fringe), Freak'n Apple (F.Frantic) or Orange/Lime (Frantic). Although Frantic is a Hybrid cover stock and Fringe and F.F. are pearl.......

don't forget the butter scotch, personally I do not like the fragrant ball smells period. It is interesting that they have the
tech's for incorporating it but i don't see the sense in it.

Well, I think he meant three balls that are nearly the same (Though the Frantic is slightly stronger than the other two).

I personally think it is more of a marketing ploy than anything
else just to make you think you're getting a better ball when it
is the same ball basically just a different fragrance.

That is one of the main reasons I no longer use Storm equipment
now days as I just do not like having a ball that smells like an air
freshener.

I used to use Storm equipment pretty much exclusively back in the
late 80's and early 90's but not now days just because of the smell.

Based on reaction videos I've seen, the Freak'n Frantic actually looks slightly tamer than the Fringe on the back end. I'm in the market for a drier/shorter oil ball, and this new one is pretty attractive initially although I'm also looking at the Roto Grip Wrecker and the regular old Frantic.

Just horse traded a buddy for a Frantic....headed to the shop in a few minutes to have it plugged and re drilled...If it works for me on our med-dry lanes, i may just pick up the freak'n when it comes out....The pro shop ordered a bunch of Lights Out, so it seems that they think it will be the right ball for summer league...

At first I found it odd that Storm would introduce three lower volume oil pattern balls at the same time. But then again they recently released the IQ Tour, IQ Tour Pearl and Sync for higher volumes.
I don't like the fragrances and don''t really like skid/flip balls too much but they do make a good product. Pretty ingenious how they change the fragrance, color and name to sell the same design again and again. That's not a knock as the auto industry has been doing it for decades upon decades.

Looks like the Lights Out gives a nod to the Tropical Heat....since the summer leagues here have fairly dry lanes, I may opt to go with this since my Heat is getting a little long in the tooth...

I read some time back that the fragrance was to enhance your mental game, and to relax you, Fragrance therapy! Then they found out that the chemicals used had a unexpected positive effect on the balls properties. So what they wound up with was a ball that smelled as good as it rolled! ( I didn't make this up!) TRUE
