Questions about Dexter SST8

I'm thinking about changing over from my beloved Linds to Dexters. The Linds work great but have such thin leather around the collar they tend to rub me right below the ankle and cause such irritation that I actually come home bloody. :eek: The Dexters seem to have a nice padded collar and I do want to give the interchangeable soles a try. I had to buy a full size smaller in my Linds. Do the Dexters run true to size? My pro shop does not carry these in my size (10.5 wide U.S. ) or I would try them on there. I know you can get the sure fit guarantee and probably will, but obviously would like to nail the fit the first time if possible. Thanks for any input.

For me the dexters ran big. I normally wear a 13 street shoe (nike, adidas, reebok) but the dexters were a little longer than what I normally wear. I ordered the sst8 a size small (12) and those seem to fit fine after I got used to my toes being closer to the end. I have a slim foot btw. Idk if wider feet change fitment and length.

If I remember correctly, I also had to get a larger size. Unfortunately, my shoes are in my locked and can't verify.

Not very helpful eh? lol. I will try to get a measurement for you of the actual shoe compared to my current street shoe.

Got my shoes out. My bowling shoes are 9M. I normally wear 8.5 in dress shoes. Nike shoes, I wear 9.5 (US).

so thats 2 for running big. 9.5 nike 9 dexter and 13 nike 12 dexter.

I lined up my 13 nikes with my 12 dexters and the dexters were the same length.

I wear a size 13 in sneakers, dress shoes, sandals, etc. Both pairs of my Dexters are 13 and a tad too long.

They were warranty replacements so I had to get the same size.

Dexter's for me run big as well. I wear a size 12 sneaker, but need 11 or 11.5 for Ds.

I typically wear 11W street shoes and my 11W SST8s fit roughly the same, for me anyway. Granted, I use arch support inserts on top of the standard Dexter inserts, so it makes them fit a little more snug. I vote the Dexters fit slightly larger than normal street shoes.

I ordered them a half size smaller than my usual size and took out the true fit guarantee. Thanks everyone.
